The appreciation for the offer and interest in the new introductions overcame the rain on Saturday and the traffic issues on Sunday: the debut of Morbegno in Cantina was very wet but also fortunate due to the presence of visitors who promoted the Giri and praised the selection of wines and tastings of typical products. 

The attendance, as was inevitable, felt the impact, with a contraction of about 30% compared to the first weekend of last year, but those who came on the first day, braving the pouring rain, returned home satisfied. More than two thousand passes were sold in the weeks leading up to the event on the website www.morbegnoincantina.info and at the counter on via Pretorio during opening hours. 

A promising start was noted by the Municipality of Morbegno, which promotes the event, and by the Consorzio Turistico Porte di Valtellina, which coordinates it, looking ahead to the upcoming weekends. “It was a good start, despite the bad weather throughout Saturday - said the mayor Patrizio Del Nero -. 

The new routes and the display of the Olympic torches at Palazzo Malacrida were very appreciated, as it always represents an important point of reference. Guests are increasingly eager to learn about the city, its monuments, palaces, and characteristic corners. The beauty of the cellars with their fine products encourages visitors to complete their day by immersing themselves in the features of the historic center. Reservations for the upcoming weekends are indeed significant.

The city breathed a wonderful atmosphere, thanks to the quality of the tastings, the music, and a young audience that brought positive vibes and a lot of interest in the tradition and enogastronomy of Valtellina through the streets of the historic center. We are expecting another two increasingly busy weekends to fully enjoy this edition of Morbegno in Cantina.”

Palazzo Malacrida, a prestigious stop on the Giro Oro'26 and the site of "Peccato a Palazzo," accessible also to those who choose one of the other Giri with an additional pass, hosted the Olympic and Paralympic torches of Milan Cortina 2026 during their first official appearance in Lombardy.

 The torch of Milan Cortina 2026 is called Essential, in honor of the minimal style that characterizes it, and was created by Eni, Premium Partner of Milan Cortina 2026, in collaboration with Versalis, Official Supporter of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. 

The two versions differ in color shade: both have a reflective and iridescent finish, with the Olympic one in shades of bluish-green and the Paralympic one in bronze. They were admired and photographed by visitors, and Morbegno was enveloped in an Olympic atmosphere.
