Markets, entertainment, music, and shows: the festivities fill with magic

 VALDIDENTRO, SONDRIO - The winter season is reaching its peak, and Valdidentro is getting ready to experience the most enchanting time of the year, filled with Christmas atmospheres, markets, music, and many entertainment proposals designed for both adults and children, involving the local community and the numerous guests in the area.

The ski area of Isolaccia is ready to welcome skiers and families starting from December 23rd, kicking off days filled with fun on the slopes (*partial opening of the skiable area, for updated information please consult the website valdidentroturismo.it) and on the adrenaline-pumping Family Bob, a rail coaster promising exciting descents among the woods.

From December 26th, the offerings will further expand with the opening of the Winter Park of Valdidentro, located at the base of the ski lifts, where it will be possible to let loose in the snow on colorful inflatables, bobsleds, and sleighs, as well as on the outdoor ice skating rink at the Isolaccia Sports Field: unmissable events to enjoy moments of carefree fun with family or friends.

The rich calendar of initiatives kicks off on Christmas Eve: on the evening of December 24th, starting at 8:30 PM, the youth and local community will stage the Living Nativity with musical accompaniment at the Church of Premadio, followed by the Holy Mass.

In the heart of the festivities, from December 28th to 30th and on the weekend of January 3rd and 4th, “Christmas in Celebration” will color Valdidentro with a rich succession of initiatives. Piazza IV Novembre (Municipality side) will come alive thanks to the traditional markets organized by the Valdidentro Folk group and local artisans, open from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, alongside delicious food offerings and afternoon entertainment. Live music is scheduled for Sunday, December 28th, starting at 4:00 PM, featuring the captivating sounds of the Yeti Duo and their guitars. On Monday, December 29th, also starting at 4:00 PM, there will be musical entertainment with accordions, and at 5:00 PM everyone will look up for the spectacular descent of the Santa Clauses from the bell tower of the Church of Isolaccia, organized by CAI Valdidentro, ready to surprise both young and old. On the 30th, dancing will take the spotlight with the spectacular performance of the Crazy West country group at 3:30 PM. Saturday, January 3rd, will kick off the weekend with music and the explosive energy of DJ Luca, who will get everyone dancing to the hits of the moment; finally, don't miss the fun Befana Party for kids scheduled for January 4th, to conclude the festivities beautifully with the Animando Group, featuring flying games, broom challenges, animated stories, and a fun baby dance.

But the festive period is also enriched with many other initiatives dedicated to both adults and children. On the evening of December 27th, at 8:45 PM, the traditional Christmas concert of the S.Cecilia Band of Valdidentro and its students will return, which this year will also see the participation of pianist Maestro Moreno Pozzi and will exceptionally take place at the Parish Church of Premadio.

Entertainment continues on the evening of December 29th with the brilliant family show “Nardo the Cheetah at the Zoolympics,” scheduled for 9:00 PM at the Semogo Theatre Hall: a show produced by Teatro Invito, with live music and songs, addressing the themes of sports, respect for diversity, teamwork, and inclusion in an original and engaging way, aimed at children from 5 years old and their families. A unique opportunity to immerse oneself in an adventure inspired by the authentic Olympic values, a very current theme given the upcoming event in Milan-Cortina 2026. Then the music continues: on Tuesday, December 30th, at 8:45 PM, the first event of the XXIV edition of the Choral Festival, a now indispensable musical event during the holidays, will take place at the Parish Church of Isolaccia. The event is organized and promoted by the Stelvio Choir, directed by Maestro Matteo Bertolina, who will open the evening with their performance, followed by the special guests: the Vocal Group “Unda Maris” from Castionetto di Chiuro and the Monteneve Choir from Livigno.

2025 will close beautifully with the traditional New Year’s Eve Party on December 31st at the arrival of the ski slope in Isolaccia: don’t miss the scenic torchlight parade with the instructors of the Valdidentro Ski School and the impressive fireworks show at 5:45 PM, accompanied by an engaging DJ set. At 6:30 PM, the Youth of Semogo will celebrate “Farewell to the Old Year” in the Civic Center of the village.

The new year opens with fun, featuring the lively children’s animation “On Skates and Away!” with the Animando Group, scheduled for the afternoon of January 2nd at 3:00 PM on the ice skating rink: guaranteed fun with baby dance, icy games, and animated stories.

Music will then take the spotlight again on January 4th with the second event of the evocative Choral Festival organized by the Stelvio Choir, scheduled for 8:45 PM at the Parish Church of Premadio: the guest of the evening will be the Youth Choir Néos KOE, bringing their energy and the freshness of the youngest voices, further enriching the musical experience.
