On the occasion of the Day of Remembrance, the Municipality of Sondalo and the Civic Library of Sondalo, in collaboration with the 5th grade of the Primary School, the Volunteers for Culture and the CAG Sondalo, promote a meeting dedicated to reflection and memory through the universal language of music.
The event, titled “The voice of a violin survived the silences of Auschwitz,” will take place on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 4:30 PM at the Civic Library of Sondalo.
Following the success of last year, the meeting is being proposed again in a format open to everyone, but particularly aimed at young people, the main recipients of a reflection on the deep meaning of remembering, to understand the past and build a more conscious future.
The initiative offers an emotional and narrative journey inspired by the story of a young Jewish girl who loves music, with the aim of providing children, teenagers, and families with a moment of sharing, memory, and awareness. Music thus becomes a tool of testimony, hope, and freedom, capable of stimulating reflection on the values of peace, respect, and human dignity.
The meeting will feature the violinist Chiara Varenna.
The appointment is a free adaptation of the book “Il violino di Auschwitz” by Anna Lavatelli and is open to the entire community.
