An event that is appreciated and convincing, that animates and enhances the city, that exalts and promotes the excellence of local food and wine, culture, and traditions: the 2025 edition of Morbegno in Cantina, which last weekend experienced its concluding event, confirmed and exceeded expectations, with nearly six thousand passes sold, a record since post-COVID. This is thanks to a now consolidated formula, characterized by the quality of the offer, and the innovations introduced, which increased interest.
The day after the closure, when the balance is still provisional, there is great satisfaction in the Municipality of Morbegno and in the Consorzio Turistico Porte di Valtellina: on Saturday and Sunday, as much as and even more than in the previous two weekends, the city was peacefully invaded by thousands of enthusiasts of fine drinking, mostly young people, who, joyfully but orderly, traversed the routes between the wineries to taste the selection of Valtellinese wines paired with local products, welcomed by volunteers from the associations along with sommeliers from Ais and Onav.
Morbegno was enveloped in a festive atmosphere with the local groups providing a perfect soundtrack with their music.
«With this event, Morbegno confirms itself as a tourist destination and an ideal place for autumn enogastronomy, with the emotions generated by the typical wineries, the corners of the historic center, and the desire to return and recommend to others to try this wonderful experience - comments the mayor Patrizio Del Nero -.
Once again we have won the challenge. My thanks go to the tourist consortium for the excellent work done, to the many associations that managed the wineries with great passion and professionalism, to the sommeliers who explained to the thousands of attendees the characteristics of our wines and producers, to the law enforcement agencies, the Local Police, and the volunteers from the Carabinieri in retirement and our Civil Protection who ensured an orderly development, to the managers of the commercial establishments, to our Bandella, and to the citizens, especially those from the historic center, who collaborated by enduring some traffic limitations».
«Morbegno in Cantina confirms itself as an extraordinary event - says the president of the Consorzio Turistico Porte di Valtellina Viola Vanini -.
Thanks to this event, thousands of girls and boys experienced a unique experience, between tastings of wines and products of the Valtellinese tradition, visits to the historic center, and encounters with the symbols and stories of our territory.
The city demonstrated an extraordinary capacity for hospitality, thanks to the involvement of 27 associations and over 300 volunteers who worked with passion to ensure hospitality, safety, and human warmth in every corner of the village.
A success not only in terms of participation but also for the enhancement of the brand of the Alpine City of Morbegno, increasingly recognized as an authentic, vibrant, and welcoming destination.
Thanks to the Municipal Administration for trusting us».
In an event that was appreciated in its entirety, standout features included the "Peccato a Palazzo", the concluding stop of the Giro Oro'26 and an additional one for the other three, chosen by a large number of participants, which helped to enhance Palazzo Malacrida, further qualifying the offer, the proposals that combined tastings with yoga and e-bike excursions, and the music played throughout, introduced this year, a successful experiment as it entertained the participants and brightened the atmosphere in the city.
As for the Tours, confirmations come from the Rosso and the Bolle, whites and... reds, always the first to reach full capacity, with the Rock, in its debut, captivating for its innovative wines, while the Giro Oro'26, a tribute on the eve of the Olympics, an exclusive itinerary in seven stages, one more than the other three, convinced with its pairings and the setting at the Malacrida.
Morbegno in Cantina is supported by Latteria Sociale Valtellina, La Fiorida, Autotorino, Cantina La Spia, Nera Vini, and Ava Food.
