For 2025, “Passi di Storia” returns, the summer initiative promoted by APT Sondalo and the Municipality of Sondalo that invites residents and visitors to rediscover the cultural and historical heritage of the area. This year, the review is enriched with a new cycle of events titled “Sulle Tracce della Grande Guerra”, a path of in-depth exploration that combines historical conferences and guided excursions in the symbolic places of the First World War.

1. Chiese Aperte – Arte, fede e comunità

The free guided tours of the historic churches of Sondalo and its fractions have also been confirmed for 2025, organized by the volunteer group “Chiese Aperte Sondalo” with the collaboration of the Youth Aggregation Center and the Parishes of Sondalo and Frontale. An opportunity to learn about religious buildings of high artistic and spiritual value.

The visits, scheduled from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, will follow this schedule:

• Santa Maria Maggiore – Friday, July 25 | Sondalo
• Santa Marta – Wednesday, July 30 | Sondalo
• Madonna della Biorca – Friday, August 1 | Grailè
• Sant’Agnese – Friday, August 8 and Wednesday, August 13 | Sondalo
• Santa Marta – Wednesday, August 20 | Sondalo
• Presentazione Beata Vergine Maria – Friday, August 22 | Bolladore

2. Sulle tracce della Grande Guerra – Storia e memoria

The new theme for 2025 proposes an engaging journey to discover World War I through cultural meetings and guided walks in places of memory.

• Friday, July 18 – 6:00 PM
  Conference room of the Polifunctional Center of Sondalo
  “Tracce di storia sondalina” – Meeting with Marco Rodigari, responsible for the Forte di Oga.
  A moment of in-depth study on local history, among research and testimonies.
• Wednesday, July 23 and Wednesday, August 6 – 9:30 AM
  Historical-naturalistic trekking to the “Grotta” di Gaveri
  Guided excursion by Marco Rodigari and Laura Besseghini, medium mountain guide, along the military paths of the second line of defense of Valtellina.
  Meeting point at Verzedo (Le Prese). Duration: about 5 hours.
  Recommended for the whole family.
  • Cost: 10 € (from 12 years), 5 € (6-11 years), free under 6 years
