November 26, 2025 – The historic appointment with the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics is getting closer, an event that will closely involve Bormio and Livigno, the official competition venues, but will engage the entire province of Sondrio. In this perspective, with the aim of enhancing and involving the entire territory, APF Valtellina has completed a series of visual and promotional installations.

One of the most significant interventions has been made at one of the key points of highest traffic. Near the roundabout of Tartano, in the municipality of Talamona, at the exit of the SS38 tunnel, a new installation promoting the Valtellina brand is clearly visible: a work about 25 meters long and 6.5 meters high, adorned with approximately 90 flags placed in the background, representing the nations participating in the upcoming Winter Olympics. The installation, with a strong scenic impact, aims to convey the international and welcoming character of the destination, becoming a sort of welcome to visitors passing through the province. This is an absolute novelty for the area, which until now had not hosted structures of such visual impact. The work is also illuminated in the evening hours.

At the same time, APF Valtellina, in collaboration with the municipalities of the territory, has installed a series of thematic banners along various streets of Chiavenna, Morbegno, Tirano, Aprica, and Sondrio. The graphics, created in accordance with the international standards of the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026, feature the official motto “IT’s Your Vibe” and integrate the Valtellina brand alongside the Olympic and Paralympic logos, emphasizing the bond between the territory and the spirit of the Games.

With these initiatives, APF Valtellina aims to contribute concretely to the festive and participatory atmosphere that will accompany the approach of the Olympic event, while promoting the unified and distinctive image of Valtellina.

“With these initiatives, we want all of Valtellina to truly feel part of the approaching Winter Olympics. The installation near the Tartano roundabout and the banners spread across the various municipalities are not just decorative elements, but an invitation to our entire community to experience this event as a shared occasion. The Olympics will closely involve Bormio and Livigno, but the celebration must belong to the entire province: it is all of Valtellina that will welcome the world, and our goal is to make this perception felt already from the first access to the valley and along its main centers.” Elio Moretti, President of APF Valtellina.

“I would like to extend a sincere thank you to APF Valtellina for the work done with professionalism. APF has been able to best interpret the spirit of the Games, enhancing the identity of our province and contributing to spreading a climate of anticipation and pride that involves all our communities. It is also thanks to them that Valtellina presents itself as welcoming and ready to embrace this extraordinary international event.” Davide Menegola, President of the Province of Sondrio.
