On the occasion of the celebrations of Saint Agnes, Patroness of Sondalo, the Municipality of Sondalo and the Civic Library are proposing again this year a meeting dedicated to the history of the territory and the figures who have contributed to defining its identity.

On Friday, January 23, at 5 PM, in the meeting room of the Polifunctional Center in Via Verdi, the book "Franco Zappa: I fought for freedom and justice", by Carlo Zanesi, will be presented. The work is a tribute to the memory of Franco Zappa, a prominent figure for Sondalo, for the Province, and for the entire national scene.

Franco Zappa represented a significant figure for the community of Sondalo and beyond. During the Resistance in Valtellina, he demonstrated courage and determination, committing himself to defend freedom during a period of great difficulty for the Country. Subsequently, his political path and his profession as a lawyer testified to a constant dedication to the values of justice, equity, and solidarity. At the same time, he never lost sight of his roots: the bond with Sondalo, his community of origin, and his affection for family were always at the center of his life. His story remains an example of civic engagement, attention to others, and deep human values, which continue to inspire those who knew him and the new generations.

The meeting is free to enter; and the following day, the book will be presented to the students of the First Degree Secondary School of Sondalo.
