New informational materials for trekking and cyclotourism in Valtellina are available
Updated map for Sentiero Valtellina and Ciclabile Valchiavenna and new brochure on the Cammino mariano delle Alpi

July 29, 2025 – Trekking and cyclotourism confirm themselves as two fundamental pillars of the tourist offering in Valtellina. In this perspective, APF Valtellina, in collaboration with local tourism consortia, has created new bilingual informational tools (Italian and English), accessible online and in paper version at the local infopoints.

For enthusiasts of hiking and spirituality, a brochure dedicated entirely to the Cammino mariano delle Alpi is available, while for those who prefer two wheels, the map of Sentiero Valtellina and Ciclabile Valchiavenna has been updated, both graphically and in terms of content.

The Cammino Mariano delle Alpi
Following the inauguration of the eastern section from Bormio to Tirano, which took place on June 29, APF Valtellina has produced a descriptive brochure that enriches the experience of the Cammino mariano. In addition to illustrating the two main routes – the western one from Piantedo to Tirano and the eastern one – the material explores various aspects including the credenziale del pellegrino, the testimonium issued at the end of the journey, and a focus on the Santuario della Madonna di Tirano, the symbolic destination of the itinerary. References to other places of Marian worship and cultural, historical, and landscape insights are also included.

Sentiero Valtellina and Ciclabile Valchiavenna
The new map dedicated to the two main cyclotouristic routes in the province now includes updated graphics and numerous useful information for those traveling by bike. Among these: charging stations for e-bikes, BCPOD (secure, monitored boxes for storing and charging bikes), pump track along the routes, and “rent a bike” points for bicycle rentals. A specific section describes in detail the stages of both routes, also offering suggestions on what to see and do along the way.

All materials produced by APF Valtellina – maps, brochures, magazines – are available for consultation and download at the following link: https://www.valtellina.it/brochure-valtellina
