In Tirano, a month of August rich in events and initiatives is expected.

Below is the program of city events, planned by the municipal administration with the aim of creating moments of entertainment for those who stay in the city in August and for visitors. The events are partly organized directly by the Municipality of Tirano and partly in collaboration or organized by third parties.

Zona Madonna:

-Sunday, August 3 and Sunday, September 7: market in Piazza Basilica;

-Saturday, August 9 at 6:00 PM show “Lux animae” at S.ta Perpetua;

-Saturday, August 9 at 9:00 PM: concert “Tirlindana” in Piazza Basilica, on the occasion of Tiranotte;

-Thursday, August 14 organ concert with Master Lorenzo Ghielmi at 8:45 PM in the Basilica;

-free guided tours in the Basilica on August 2-9-16-23 and September 6 at 4:00 PM;

 -free guided tours to the chapel of Santa Perpetua on August 2-14 and 23 and September 6 at 5:00 PM;

-Sunday, September 7: event “Sbaracco”: exceptional end-of-season sale, with musical accompaniment throughout the city, in collaboration with the Union of Commerce and Tourism of the Province of Sondrio.

Zona Viale Italia e Piazza Marinoni:

- Music festival “Tirano stazione Live” at Binario Zero and Piazza delle Stazioni, on August 1-9-15-22-29 and 30 from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, organized by local businesses;

- Saturday, August 9 from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM: markets along Viale Italia, music and entertainment, games for children in Piazza Marinoni, on the occasion of Tiranotte;

- from Friday, August 29 to Sunday, August 31, Piazza Marinoni, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 AM: returning by popular demand, “Hop Hop street food”- street food from around the world;

Zona Piazza Unità d’Italia:

- Free film festival “Aria di cinema”: on August 2-6-10 and 13 at 9:15 PM

Zona centro storico:

- Until September 15, from Friday at 6:00 PM to Monday at 7:00 AM: closure of Via XX Settembre, stretch Piazza Cavour intersection Via Albonico;

- Friday, August 1: musical entertainment with DJ Aldo and exhibition of vintage Alfa Romeo cars in Piazza San Martino; 

- Saturday, August 9 from 2:30 PM to 12:00 AM: exhibition of historical vehicles along Via XX Settembre and Piazza Cavour; at 9:00 PM, Piazza San Martino concert “Unplugged Live” by Carlo Ozzella, on the occasion of Tiranotte;

- free guided tours of historic Palaces on August 9 at 9:00 PM, September 7 at 10:30 AM, September 13 at 9:00 PM;

- free guided tours of the Castle of Santa Maria and Sforza walls on August 2-16 and September 13 at 6:00 PM;

Località Trivigno

- Thursday, August 7: traditional feast of San Gaetano. Program: at 7:00 AM meeting in Piazza San Martino and departure for a walk along the ancient mule track; at 10:30 AM meeting at the bridge and departure for the procession to the church of San Gaetano; at 11:15 AM Holy Mass.

NEW: Thursday, August 14 from 7:00 PM, at the chapel of San Gaetano in località Trivigno the new free event: “Dal tramonto alle stelle,” a magical evening among music, nature, and the starry sky. The program includes: at 7:00 PM concert at sunset by the Orchestra Vivaldi; then, from 9:15 PM, guided observation of the starry sky by “Cose dell’Astromondo.” A food stand will be present, curated by Matt Food.

Open stage in Piazza Cavour

Starting from August 1 and until September 7, “Open stage,” the free stage in Piazza Cavour, will be set up. Individual musicians or musical groups will be able to perform every Saturday from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM for free concerts. Interested parties can communicate their availability to the Citizen’s Office of the Municipality of Tirano.Urban bus service

Starting from September 1, the urban bus service will be launched, which will be free for the first 6 months (until February 28, 2026) in order to promote its awareness and habitual use.
