Cinema and Landscape takes place in Caiolo from 16 to 18 October 2026 and is a cultural initiative focused on the relationship between cinematic language and the land, with Elisa Possenti.
Three days to explore the landscape through the lens of cinema, looking more closely at how images and footage can tell stories about places, environments and identities. The event offers a chance to meet and reflect on the value of visual representation of the area.
Landscape, told through cinema
Cinema is a tool that can observe and interpret the landscape, bringing together natural elements, inhabited spaces and human presence.
The initiative with Elisa Possenti fits into this perspective, giving participants the opportunity to get closer to the relationship between cinematic images and places.
The event takes place in Caiolo, in the multimedia room of the former dairy, as part of the activities connected to the TràMonti d’arte and Radici projects, with the involvement of the Municipality of Caiolo.

The initiative is scheduled for Friday 16, Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2026.
The first meeting is set for 15:00. The times for the following days have not been specified.

🏘️ Discover the municipality of Caiolo
Caiolo e' un paese di antiche origini , come dimostrano i ritrovamenti di monete di conio romano e di altri reperti. Nel territorio fu anche rinvenuto un PAAL-STAB, specie di coltello usato dai Galli durante i loro riti sacri. I primi documenti storici, riguardanti il paese, risalgono all'anno 1000. Anticamente denominato SOLTOGIO, l'abitato assunse l'attuale denominazione soltanto in quel periodo, come risulta da un documento dell'anno 1024. Nell'anno 1202 il Vescovo di Como Guglielmo concesse l'antico feudo, comprendente il territorio di Soltogio, ad un componente della famiglia Capitanei. "Un ramo de Capitanei di Sondrio e Berbenno vantavano nel gennaio 1307 il diritto di decimare in territorio oltre l'Adda in monte di Calliolo e Soltogio, nonche' in Cayllo, e il possesso di una terra campiva e boschiva con sedimine in Caylli ove diucevasi in Piazzabella, confinante a mattina con la Valle del Liuro, a mezzodi' con proprieta' del comune di Andevenno e tenuta da Martino de Santogalo, a sera via comune e a nullora il comune di Andevenno."Scopri di più.
