Teglio, ubicato in posizione centrale e strategica rispetto alla media Valtellina, si adagia su un ampio terrazzo soleggiato del versante retico, rivolta a mezzogiorno sulle alpi Orobie, collegato alle sue numerose frazioni e sparse contrade da una fitta rette stradale panoramica. In passato faceva parte del Comune di Teglio anche Aprica, situato a sud-est del territorio tellino, ora Comune indipendente. Il Comune conta, secondo l'ultimo censimento della popolazione dell'anno 2001 n. 4795 abitanti, denominati tellini, estendendosi su una superficie di circa 115,23 Kmq per una densità abitativa di 41,62 abitanti per chilometro quadrato. Sorge a circa 856 metri sul livello del mare raggiungendo un'altitudine compresa fra 300-916 metri. Dista da Sondrio, capoluogo dell'omonima provincia cui il Comune appartiene, circa 21 chilometri. E' raggiungibile attraverso la strada panoramica dei Castelli o su strada provinciale raggiungibile E sulla SS 38 fino a Tresenda di Teglio, per poi proseguire sulla SS 39 del passo d'Aprica.Scopri di più.
