π Ingredients
- 1 kg of apples (about 4 large apples)
- 200 g of flour
- 2 eggs
- 150 g of sugar
- 6 tablespoons of milk
- 1 packet of baking powder
- Grated zest and juice of 1 lemon
For the finish (optional):
- 1 tablespoon of breadcrumbs
- 40 g of melted butter

- Peel the apples and slice them thinly. Set them aside in a bowl with the lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar until you get a frothy mixture.
- Add the sifted flour, the baking powder, the grated lemon zest, and the milk.
- If the batter seems too thick, add a splash of water to loosen it.
- Pour the batter into a buttered and floured baking dish.
- Arrange the sliced apples on top of the batter.
- If desired, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and finish with a drizzle of melted butter.
- Bake in a static oven at medium heat (about 180Β°C) for 30 minutes, or until golden brown.
