CAsa Priula

In the Valli del Bitto there’s a inn that has reopened recently and is already making headlines. It’s called CAsa Priula, and it’s in Albaredo per San Marco. Behind it is the project by Monica and Stefano: a Valtellina-style kitchen that looks to tradition but isn’t afraid to innovate, with a warm, genuine welcome and something a bit harder to put into words—an experience you take home together with the  flavours of Valtellina. Find out everything there is to know.

Casa Priula: a restaurant and inn in Albaredo per San Marco, in the heart of the Orobie

In the heart of Albaredo per San Marco, where the Valli del Bitto open up and your gaze drifts towards the Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi, you’ll find CAsa Priula, a restaurant and an inn.

If you’ve never made it as far as this little village, you don’t know what you’re missing.

I found a place where you can rediscover the pleasure of stopping, feeling good, and enjoying an outstanding food and drink experience, surrounded by nature that honestly leaves you speechless. And if you’re lucky, you might even spot the deer grazing on the grass in the meadows below.

Here, silence has a special value. You’re truly surrounded by nature, in every sense of the word; the birdsong accompanies moments of relaxation, and the view over the valley brings a rare sense of peace.

For anyone who wants to switch off from everyday life, breathe in good air, and treat themselves to a break made of beauty and excellent Valtellina cuisine, CAsa Priula is a destination you can choose without a second thought.

The revival and the philosophy of hospitality

After a period of silence, the venue came back to life thanks to Monica and Stefano, who brought this place back to its true spirit, with passion and genuine care for guests. For them, welcoming isn’t just about hosting people—it’s about looking after the most precious time of anyone who arrives: time for rest, wellbeing, and stepping away from the daily routine.

You can feel this philosophy in every detail.

In the kitchen, Stefano brings his approach to dining, shaped by attentiveness, sensitivity, technique, and respect for the local area. His dishes tell the story of Valtellina tradition, pizzoccheri, sciatt, taroz, polenta, but they can also surprise you with creative ideas, always built from top-quality ingredients.

It’s not just about food: it’s a way of caring for people through taste. From homemade bread to the exclusive Bauletti al Bitto.

At his side is Monica, a key presence in the running of CAsa Priula, who knows how to turn hospitality into something thoughtful and sincere.

The spaces and the atmosphere

Together, they’ve created an environment where passion truly shows—not just in the welcome, but also in the details: the accessories, the furnishings, and the aesthetic choices that make every space feel relaxing and in perfect harmony.

The restoration of CAsa Priula was nothing short of a rebirth. The ancient stones found their warmth again, the interiors were fully renewed, and every area was rethought with great care, choosing colours and atmospheres that capture all the authenticity of the Alpine village.

The indoor dining room—elegant and bright—opens out onto the valley with a view that makes every lunch or dinner even more enjoyable. In the warmer months the outdoor veranda becomes one of the best places to sit: a privileged outlook over the natural landscape, where you can enjoy a moment you’d never want to end.

Experience, stay and the local area

For those who want to extend the experience, CAsa Priula is also an inn.

The rooms have been designed with the same care as the rest of the house: welcoming spaces, attention to detail, and an atmosphere that offers not only comfort, but a real sense of peace and renewal. Staying here means giving yourself time that feels different—slow, laid-back, and restorative—surrounded by a setting that genuinely invites you to slow down.

CAsa Priula is also a favourite stop for motorcyclists who travel along the Statale 470 towards the Passo San Marco, an iconic road for anyone who loves two wheels (download the guide here). All around, the local area offers plenty of opportunities for anyone who loves nature and discovery: from the trails of the Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi to the natural history ecomuseum along the ancient Via Priula, built by the Venetians at the end of the sixteenth century.

Another good reason to choose CAsa Priula as a special stop, for lunch, dinner, a weekend, or a stay in the Valli del Bitto worth remembering.
