A very positive start for the first weekend of Gustosando in Valtellina 2026. Kicking off the 2026 edition was the Albaredo for San Marco itinerary, which on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 October welcomed visitors with a varied route made up of seven stops, featuring local produce, Valtellina wines, history, culture and tradition. The figures recorded during the first appointment confirm an upward trend, with around 800 visitors—up 32% compared with 2025.
The route guided participants through the historic centre of the Orobie village, combining tastings of local specialities with the chance to get to know the places, traditions and identity of the area much better. A format that truly captures the spirit of Gustosando: a festival that, for over twenty years, offers a different way to experience the Lower Valtellina by bringing together food and wine, landscape, history and conviviality.
«We’re very happy with how this first weekend got going,» says Milena Ravelli from APS Albaredo Promotion. «Participation was very positive, and it makes us proud to have seen people arriving in Albaredo from different parts of Lombardy, as well as international tourists. That’s a sign we’re pleased to see, because it means the event manages to introduce our town and our products beyond regional borders too. I’d like to thank everyone who threw themselves into the organisation and contributed their time and support: the work and availability of associations, volunteers and local groups are essential to making the event a success».
The first appointment, then, launched an edition involving four villages in the Lower Valtellina, which will continue over the coming weekends. Alongside tastings, this year too Gustosando’s programme includes side events, music, visits and activities designed to make the experience even more complete and engaging—while also highlighting the work of local associations and the many volunteers who help bring the routes to life.
Next weekend, Gustosando will once again run the Albaredo for San Marco itinerary, joined this time by Buglio in Monte, taking centre stage with a hands-on, up-close route through seven historic cellars in the village, matched with an equal number of wines from local farms.
Saturday will also spotlight Mello with its event “Mello in Cantina”, which will then run again on Saturday 17 October. The route features eight cellars offering tastings of Valtellina wines paired with samples of typical local produce, accompanied by music and entertainment—so as to recreate the alluring, festive atmosphere that has long characterised the village.
To round off the 2026 edition, it will be Dubino’s turn over the weekend of 17 and 18 October, with an itinerary through the courtyards and streets of the town, discovering local produce and specialities linked to the area’s traditions.
Following the positive opening of Albaredo for San Marco, Gustosando is now ready to continue its journey through the Lower Valtellina, confirming a formula that puts villages and communities at the heart of things and, through food, tells the story of the traditions and identity of the region.
