The 41st Chestnut Sagra takes place in Rasura on 3 and 4 October 2026, and it’s a festival dedicated to chestnuts, local flavours and the traditions of the area.
Organised by Pro Loco Rasura Mellarolo, the event offers two days during which chestnuts take centre stage in the kitchen and in the activities around town. Alongside the dishes prepared for the occasion, there’ll be music, dancing, local specialities, old-time trades and activities for both adults and children.
Programme
Saturday 3 October, from 19:00, the kitchens open with dishes made using chestnuts and local traditional produce. At 21:00 there’s a dancing evening featuring The Whites.
Sunday 4 October starts at 10:00 with a market selling local specialities. At 10:30 there will be a Holy Mass at the Church of San Giacomo. From 11:30 the kitchens reopen for lunch with chestnut dishes and local produce, with takeaway service from 11:30 to 12:30. At 14:30 it’s back to dancing with The Whites.
The menu includes risotto with chestnuts and sausage, chestnut gnocchi and chestnut tagliatelle, polenta with ribs and chestnuts with lavècc, chestnut desserts and other specialities. During the Sagra, there are also side events such as a children’s play area, a rope-and-pulley ride for kids, guided excursions, stalls selling local products, the Mountain Museum and old-time trades.

Rasura è il secondo paese che si incontra salendo la Valgerola, parte del suo territorio è inserito nel Parco Regionale delle Orobie Valtellinesi. Lo si raggiunge percorrendo la SP 7 della Valgerola (ex SS 405) che parte dal centro storico di Morbegno appena superato il torrente Bitto a San Rocco (8 km.). La vista spazia verso la Val Gerola e le Alpi Retiche con il gruppo del Disgrazia. Rasura deriva il suo nome dalla conformazione territoriale che lo ospita: radura. L'abitato infatti si presenta immerso nel verde delle pinete con le sue case adagiate tra dolci ed ampi dossi. La strada statale divide a metà il paese e la parte più vecchia è sviluppata attorno alla chiesa, sotto la strada. L'abbondanza di pascoli e la vicinanza con il fondovalle hanno fatto si che molti edifici fossero ristrutturati e la popolazione continuasse a vivere in paese. La prosperità di un tempo, dovuta ai commerci con le vallate vicine, è un ricordo così come il rumore del lavorio dei telai che producevano manufatti di lana ricercati in tutta la provincia.Scopri di più.
