Perfect to enjoy at the end of a meal or to give as a gift in a bottle, the hawthorn liqueur is made with just a few ingredients: pure alcohol, sugar, and fresh berries picked at the right times. The result? An aromatic beverage, slightly tannic with a very characteristic fruity note. 🍶
🛒 Ingredients
- 1 liter of pure alcohol for liqueurs (95°)
- 250 g of sugar
- 300-350 g of hawthorn berries (brugnol) well ripe and washed
👩🍳 Preparation
- In a large glass bottle, pour the pure alcohol, the sugar, and the hawthorn berries.
- Tightly close and gently shake to mix the ingredients.
- Store the bottle in a cool and dark place.
- Let it infuse for 40 days, shaking the container 2-3 times a week.
- At the end of the period, carefully filter the liquid using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
- Bottle the liqueur in sterilized glass containers.
🍷 Storage and Consumption
- Let the liqueur rest for at least 1 week after bottling before serving.
- Store in a cool place, away from light.
- Great as a digestif or meditation liqueur.
