The 21st Chestnut and Mushroom Town Festival takes place in Castello dell’Acqua on 25 October 2026, and is an autumnal event dedicated to local flavours, traditions, and activities from the area.

A day that brings together local produce, seasonal cooking, demonstrations linked to tradition, and entertainment for both adults and children. Chestnuts and mushrooms are at the heart of the event, with a programme running from morning through to the afternoon.

From 8:30am, the stalls of local producers and street vendors will be open. During the morning there will also be a free health check of vital signs.

At 10:30am and 2:15pm, there will be wood-cutting demonstrations and the rasegone contest. Throughout the day, the bar will also be open, serving sausage sandwiches.

Programme

At 12:30pm, there will be an autumn lunch, with chestnut-flour tagliatelle with cream and mushrooms, mushroom and chestnut stew served with polenta, cheeses, and cake. The cost is £20 for adults and £10 for children.

From 2:30pm, there will be entertainment with face painting for children and giant bubbles. At 3:00pm, the two-person burraco tournament gets under way, while in the afternoon there will also be apple fritters, hot chocolate, and roasted chestnuts.
