The event brings to the centre of Morbegno a programme that combines the cheese world with gastronomy, culture, and activities for families. From the cheese competition to live processing, as well as tastings, workshops, and shows, the Mostra del Bitto offers different ways to learn about local productions and traditions.
Among the main highlights are the historic cheese competition, the large auction of the winning rounds, and live processing in the ancient calecc. Workshops are also planned, visits to the casera in the square, folklore groups, and initiatives dedicated to artisan flavours.
For children and families, workshops and shows at the museum are announced, a learning farm with activities for “little cheesemakers,” and the Parco della Bosca – Il sentiero nell'isola, with workshops and farm-style snacks.
The food and drink offering includes the Polentoteca, pizzoccheri in the cloister, street food in town, tastings of Bitto DOP and mead, Valtellina Casera in the kitchen, cheeses paired with gin and tonic, themed aperitifs, and other options.
Other initiatives include Cheescape Room at Palazzo Malacrida, Mystery Taste, Giro Bitto in cantina – Cheese & Wine, the Palo della Cuccagna, music, folklore, DJ sets, and shows. With Bitto in the Sky, funambulist stories also invite you to discover the town and its history with your gaze turned upward.
