The event brings to the heart of Morbegno a programme that blends the world of cheese with food, culture and activities for families. From the cheese contest to live processing, right through to tastings, workshops and shows, the Mostra del Bitto offers different ways to explore local produce and traditions.
Among the main highlights are the historic cheese contest, the big auction of the winning wheels and live processing in the ancient calecc. There will also be workshops, visits to the casera in the square, folkloristic groups and initiatives dedicated to artisanal flavours.
For children and families, there are workshops and shows at the museum, an educational farm with activities for “little cheesemakers”, and the Parco della Bosca – Il sentiero nell'isola, with workshops and country-style snacks.
The food offering includes the Polentoteca, pizzoccheri in the cloister, street food around town, tastings of Bitto DOP and mead, Valtellina Casera in the kitchen, cheese paired with gin and tonic, themed aperitifs and other options.
Other initiatives include Cheescape Room at Palazzo Malacrida, Mystery Taste, Giro Bitto in cantina – Cheese & Wine, the Pole of the Greased Pig, music, folklore, DJ sets and performances. With Bitto in the Sky, funambulist stories also invite you to discover the town and its history, looking up to the sky.
